Hexagon Customer Experience Improvement Program

Purpose of the Hexagon Customer Experience Improvement Program

The Hexagon Customer Experience Improvement Program is a completely voluntary program designed to help Hexagon improve its software applications. Without any interruption, this program collects information about your computer hardware and how you use our software. The collected information helps us identify which features to improve.

Overview: What Information Do We Collect

If activated, the Hexagon Customer Experience Improvement Program tracks information on the computer hardware and which parts of the software you use and how often.

We do not access or collect information about any of your other (non-Hexagon) software applications.

The information we collect helps us know which areas of the software are no longer in use and what we can safely retire. It also helps us know the areas you frequently use, and where we should focus future improvements. If you join the program, it helps us prioritise our activities on those areas of the software you use the most.

How the Hexagon Customer Experience Improvement Program Communicates with the Internet

The Hexagon Customer Experience Improvement Program communicates with the Internet as follows:

  • Specific information sent: The information, sent to Microsoft Application Insights servers in controlled facilities at Microsoft, includes details about your computer hardware (such as the number of processors) and information about how you use the software – what menu and ribbon options you use, and so on.
  • Default setting: By default, the software activates the Hexagon Customer Experience Improvement Program for all users through the option on the Join the Hexagon Customer Experience Improvement Program page. This check box is available during the software installation process. It defaults to Yes, I want to join. If you clear this check box, the Hexagon Customer Experience Improvement Program remains turned off unless you explicitly turn it on later. After installation, you can turn this on or off at any time in the Settings option of the application.
  • Triggers: The Hexagon Customer Experience Improvement Program collects data over time and sends it periodically. If you do not connect your computer to the Internet, it does not transmit data.
  • User notification: If you choose to participate the software does not prompt or notify or interrupt you in any way when it collects or sends data.
  • Access and privacy: The software stores collected data on Microsoft Application Insights servers in controlled facilities at Microsoft. Hexagon uses the data to identify trends and usage patterns in Hexagon software and to improve Hexagon products. We do not use the data for other purposes.
  • Transmission protocol and port: The transmission protocol is HTTPS, and the port is 443.
